Construction Site Canteen, Kitchen and Drying Room

The requirement

As a result of the ongoing pandemic situation, our client requested a temporary site canteen with kitchen and lockers to provide safe, socially distanced catering for their construction crews. In addition, a drying room was required. The buildings needed to be spacious, insulated, robust and easy to clean.

The Fews Solution

We provided a 15m x 35m aluminium frame clear-span structure for the canteen and kitchen, plus a 10m x 10m aluminium clear-span structure for the drying room, each on a 3m leg.
Both structures were fitted with thermo insulated roof covers and 40mm insulated sandwich panel walls to eliminate condensation. Deck-level cassette flooring was finished with commercial grade non-slip vinyl floor covering. Heating was provided by radiant cassette heaters alongside lighting and full power distribution boards.

A full commercial kitchen was installed which was complemented by an acoustic suspended ceiling, walling finished with a wipe down HPL laminate, and two servery hatches.
Motorised white powder coated roller shutters were installed for ease of serving and a single swing door, lockable with vision panel for access to the kitchen area.
